Chicks on Skates

Suzy Hotrod and Rolletta Lynn led the Queens of Pain to victory over the Manhattan Mayhem at the Gotham Girls Roller Derby bout I shot photos at the other week. It was supercool. The girls are kinda kidding but kinda not and rough it up bigtime out on the track (rink?). More bouts coming soon.

Ghostland Observatory: Fuck Yeah

So you've been waiting for a band with a Pippy-Longstocking-ponytailed Native American lead singer who wears tight white pants and sings like Freddie Mercury crossed with Ric O'Casek while backed by a mad scientist keyboard-playing drummer grooving it up with tracks somewhere between the sleaze of The Faint and the musicality of Ratatat? Well then you've met your match. Austin's Ghostland Observatory will be huge. They put on such a good fucking rock+electro show last night at The Delancey. Sweaty, glammy, dancey, hot, groovy, unique, and totally fresh. The hipsters are all talking about GLO and with good reason. MP3s available here, here, and here and streaming audio here but live is what ya gotta experience.
