I'm playing a solo show sat nite (april 23) at Rockwood Music Hall (NYC). It's a cool lil' place at 196 Allen St (btwn Houston and Stanton). Show starts at 8pm & i go on at midnight. This will be my first gig since moving to NYC so if yer in town it'd be great to see ya there. More info and free MP3 tracks at my music site.

Britt Daniels Remixes Interpol

Britt Daniels from Spoon is so the man. For confirmation, check out his remix of Interpol's "Slow Hands." As with Spoon, the guitars are peeled off and the rhythm section takes center stage. Super tight drum pocket, groovy bassline in the chorus, breakdown, and creamy goodness.

To hear, go to the Noiselab Interpol site (their Mexican label or something) and click on remixes link on side.

[Quote] Measurements

"The only man I know who behaves sensibly is my tailor; he takes my measurements anew each time he sees me. The rest go on with their old measurements and expect me to fit them."

Cooperation

From Revealing Human Nature Through Portrait Photography, a Shutterbug interview with Amy Arbus.

SB: How do you get cooperation from your subjects for such wonderful portraits?

AA: When I ask to photograph someone, it is because I love the way they look and I think I make that clear. I'm paying them a tremendous compliment. What I'm saying is, I want to take you home with me and look at you for the rest of my life.
